The coastal landscapes of West Funen are quite unique. A varied countryside, bordering the
Little Belt. Often beautiful and peaceful, yet always with powerful currents constantly shaping
the coastline. Sand and stones, beaches and woods, cliffs and dunes. The old fishing village of
Torø Huse and the unspoilt nature of the Torø peninsula. The cliffs at Sønderby Klint, 30 metres
high and continually changing. Searching for amber and unusual stones. The island of Baagø out
in the straights, a storm-swept paradise for birds and idyllic in summer. Take the ferry across,
bringing bikes and binoculars. Helnæs, the holy headland, offers history, fantastic scenery
and rich cultural life. The high hills to the north, Helnæs Made and the village in the centre and
the fine beaches to the south. With free access to most of it on foot, there’s much to enjoy.
