Angling - West Funen

Angling

West Funen is generously endowed with more then 80 kilometres of coastline. The excellent sea-trout fishing in West Funen’s waters make it an eldorado for anglers.

If you prefer to fish in put-and-take lakes, there are two providers for you to choose from in the area.

Sea fishing

Angling for sea trout is a unique hobby you can pursue in Funen, which has made great efforts to improve the aquatic environment for the benefit of flora and fauna, and not least the sea trout.

As a result, sea trout abound off the coast of Funen all year round

Sea Trout Funen seeks to establish attractive conditions for successful shore angling for sea trout and refers to Funen as the best destination in the world for this type of activity.
Further details about how to get started, how to find the best fishing spots and determine the best tackle to use are found in the magazine “Havørred Fyn” (Sea Trout Funen) and the guidebook “Seatrout Guide Funen: 117 Fine Funen Fishing Spots” – both offering guide services, angling courses, casting courses and a weather service. If you prefer visual information, see the DVD “The Art of Catching Sea Trout from the Shore”.

Good fishing spots are found along the coast near Assens at places like Aborg, Sønderby Klint, Helnæs Peninsula and Baagø Island. There are also many other fishing spots where you’re sure to catch “sea-trout fever” and fulfil your fishing dreams.

After a pleasantly exhausting day of angling, you’ll need a good night’s sleep for the next day’s activities, provided by one of the many B&Bs in the area offering fine facilities for anglers.
